Sketching mannequins is always a good way to learn about figures. This assignment combined the sketching with one-point perspective of a chess board. Students drew and painted the mannequin from observation in three different sizes and cut them out. The chess board was painted in 1-point perspective on the paper and painted. Finally the mannequins were pasted on to it, taking forward the perspective in terms of the sizes, i.e. smaller ones at the back and the largest one in front.
