Visiting Jamini Roy

Children visited the National Gallery of Modern Art to view an exhibition of works by noted Bengali artist Jamini Roy, whose works have been declared national heritage. Taking inspiration from the Kalighat paintings and the Patua painters of Bengal, Jamini Roy created his own unique style of paintings.

Children spent almost two hours with the paintings and sketching the animals and figures in them. It was a rewarding experience for both the children as well as for me.
