Kalamkari Artists

Kalamkari literally means, ‘With the pen’. Grade 2 and 3 students made Kalamkari Ganeshas during the festival period. They first studied the forms of the Kalamkari, which is practiced in the south of India. They used felt tip pens to make a border and then draw the Ganesha. The Kalamkari paintings use colors made from natural material and minerals, mainly browns, ochres and blues.
