Kindergarten Birds of Paradise

Kindergarten children made beautiful birds of paradise right here in the studio. After drawing out the basic bird shape, kids folded the paper in half and put blobs of reds, oranges and yellows on one side of the paper. They folded the paper and blotted it to get a symmetrical blob. Then they cut out the bird shapes and pasted it on a black paper. From the remaining paper, the beak, wings, and tail were cut out and added to the bird. The entire assembly was mounted on a white sheet. Kids then used paper strips, curled them around a pencil and used them to make their birds more exotic. Finally, flowers were made by dipping the paint caps in paint and stamping them around the bird. The birds of paradise were now ready to fly.
