Inspired by Escher

My 6th graders have worked on tesselations. Inspired by M S Escher, students started with a retangle of cardboard. THey cut out shapes from two sides and pasted these shapes on the other to form their basic shape. They traced around this shape multiple times to fill the paper.

Now comes the real fun! Children had to imagine what they see in this shape and draw out the same motif on all the squares. They painted these and finally outlined them and added details using a black marker or a thin brush and black paint.

I am posting some which were complete, and some more will be completed next week, when I will post them. But I just couldn’t wait to share these with you. Enjoy!
